Learn Sarga Bodywork's signature barefoot myofascial massage techniques in the “Island of the Gods”.

This 4-day Sarga Bodywork certification course combines professional myofascial massage education with authentic Balinese cultural experiences in Ubud, including water blessing ceremonies and sacred waterfall hikes.

This course package provides 35 continuing education credits for US students upon completion of both the in-person + online curriculum (NCBTMB #1431).

Course Requirements & Prerequisites:

  • Must have at least 1 year of manual therapy experience.
  • Must meet your state/country's massage licensure requirements (if applicable).
  • Must have current liability/malpractice insurance in the state/country where you practice (if applicable).
  • Purchase and completion of Sarga Bodywork Beginner Online Course through the “Course Theory Quiz” section.

What to expect in Sarga 101:

  • Sarga Bodywork equipment setup.
  • Foot-based awareness, mechanics, care & sanitation.
  • Sarga Bodywork principles & theory.
  • Cautions & contraindications for barefoot massage. 
  • Sarga Silk alignment & wrapping methods.
  • Seated & standing posterior & anterior myofascial massage techniques using your bare feet.
  • 90-minute full body routine.

  • Practitioners who prefer an in-person learning environment verses an online format.

Our classroom training shala is nestled in Ubud's lush rice terraces, Bali's spiritual center and hub for wellness practitioners.

Located 1.5 hours from Denpasar International Airport (DPS), our classroom offers the perfect setting for immersive barefoot massage education surrounded by natural beauty.

Class Schedule

Day 1: Afternoon orientation and Balinese water blessing (Melukat ceremony)

Day 2: Introduction, equipment setup and review of posterior lower body technique.

Day 3: Review of posterior upper body technique in the morning and anterior body in the afternoon.

Day 4: Review of sequencing for both the posterior and anterior body.

Day 5: Review of seated techniques in the morning and full 90min routine in the afternoon.

Day 6: Waterfall hike in Wana Giri

Day 7 (Optional): 1-day mountain retreat including a visit to the local market, natural hot springs, and cycling through lush hills and rice paddies.

Tuition Fees

$995 USD. Payment plans available upon request.

Includes:

  • Sarga 101 tuition (24 hours of in-person instruction)
  • Vegetarian lunch on class days
  • Activities on Day 1 (Melukat Ceremony) and Day 6 (Waterfall Hike).

Does not include:

  • Lodging
  • Transport to/from the airport and to/from the classroom.
  • Optional activity on Day 7 (1-day mountain retreat)

This course reviews equipment setup and bodywork techniques for both floor-based & raised table applications. Classroom equipment will be supplied for the duration of the course. Equipment and products for personal use are not included with tuition, but are available for purchase at a 10% discount.

Online Course Prerequisite

To join any in-person course, purchase and completion of Sarga Bodywork Beginner Online Course through the “Course Theory Quiz” section is required for the safety of all participants.

Our online course introduces the basics of barefoot massage and Sarga Bodywork's unique myofascial techniques.

This online course includes lifetime access, over 8 hours of high-definition instructional video, downloadable course materials, access across all devices and access to a private local Facebook community forum.

Melukat Water Ceremony

We begin our journey with Melukat, a ritual cleansing of the body, mind and spirit practiced in the unique tradition of Balinese Hinduism. Melukat is conducted by a priest at a temple site and involve offerings accompanied by mantras and immersion in water.
